Whole-Home Remodels
Every old cabin is hiding something
Half the housing stock up here was built before anyone worried about insulation values, snow load math, or open floor plans. Opening those walls always finds something: undersized headers, a beam carrying more than it should, knob and tube, a roof that has been leaking quietly for a decade. We open a wall early and on purpose, so the surprises land in week two instead of week twelve.
What's included
- Exploratory demo before the contract price is locked, not after
- Structural engineering for the walls you actually want gone
- Insulation and envelope upgrades to current mountain standards
- A written allowance schedule so finish decisions do not blow the budget
- Phased scheduling if you need to keep living in part of the house
What most bids leave out
A remodel bid that contains no contingency line is not a lower price. It is a bid that has decided to argue with you later.
Before After ★★★★★
“They found rot under the deck ledger in week two and had a price and a fix the same day. Our last builder would have found it in month four.”
Open books, both directions
You see every subcontractor bid, every material invoice, and our fee as a separate line. When a number changes you find out that week, not at the end. Nobody has ever been surprised by a Stonepine invoice, and that is the whole point.
